Now available is the December 21, 2016 NASA Future In-Space Operations (FISO) telecon material. The speaker was Steve Collicott (Purdue University) who presented “Research and Education Missions on the New Commercial Sub-orbital Rockets.”
Steven Collicott teaches and researches in a unique part of fluid physics: zero-gravity fluid dynamics. Applications range from control and gauging of liquid propellants in satellites for maximizing profitable lifetime to wicking in Earth-bound miniature medical devices. He is a leader in science and education payloads in the emerging commercial sub-orbital spaceflight industry.

He earned his Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University, is an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, serves on CASIS’s Science and Technology Advisory Panel, chairs the Sub- orbital Applications Researchers Group of the Commercial Spaceflight Federation, and serves on the Committee on Biological and Physical Sciences in Space for the National Academies.
