In a special viewing room behind the Johnson Space Center’s Mission Control Center station flight control room known as FCR-1, students with experiments aboard the Orbital Sciences Corporation Cygnus spacecraft settle in to watch video of the vehicle lifting off atop an Antares rocket from Pad-0A of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport (MARS), NASA Wallops Flight Facility, Va., at 10:58 a.m. (EDT) on Sept. 18, 2013.
Allen Lantz, Clear Creek Intermediate student, is seen in the foreground. Parents and mentors join the students in the viewing room, while flight controllers can be seen on the other side of the glass supporting the current Expedition 37 mission that is ongoing aboard the International Space Station.
