A dry (without fuel) spin balance test was completed on the Mars Atmosphere and Volatile EvolutioN (MAVEN) spacecraft at Lockheed Martin Space Systems in Littleton, Colorado on July 9, 2013.
The (MAVEN) mission, scheduled for launch in late 2013, will be the first mission devoted to understanding the Martian upper atmosphere.
This test was the last to be completed on the integrated spacecraft before its shipment to Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on Aug. 2, 2013.
