Cinder cone-like and flow-like features at Gusev: volcanic or frost mounds? With color images and using data from CRISM, a spectrometer onboard the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, we can detect alteration materials if present and identify the mineralogy. Gusev is about 166 kilometers in diameter and formed approximately three to four billion years ago.It was also the landing site for the Spirit rover.
