Artemis 1 Launch Scrubbed Due To Engine Issue
Artemis 1

NASA scrubbed today’s launch attempt for the Artemis 1 mission due to an issue with the Number 3 engine. During hydrogen loading that engine refused to be adjusted to the proper temperature.

NASA’s TV spokesman admitted this had been a test objective for the Wet Dress 4 test that was not accomplished. As such this was the first time that NASA Had tested this aspect of launch preparations.

NASA’s next launch opportunity for Artemis 1 mission is Friday 2 Sep at 12:48 pm EDT. That would depend on what happens with NASA “troubleshooting” on the engine 3 issue that led to today’s scrub. If they need to start replacing hardware then we may see a roll back to the VAB and an October launch date. Maybe.
