Fractured Material In Nectaris Montes On Mars
Also visible in a Mars Orbiter Camera image, this observation captures light-toned rock that appears to be fractured, quite possibly dikes. Dikes can have different composition than the surrounding rock, giving them unique textures and colors. A closer look will give us some insight into the depositional structure, as well as information about its erosional forms. This image is located in Nectaris Montes, located within Coprates Chasma.
