Window Covering Falls off Shuttle Launch is Still A Go
NASA spokesman Mike Rein said tomorrow’s scheduled launch of the space shuttle Discovery is a go after engineers replaced a carrrier panel after a plastic window covering fell and damaged two tiles on the carrier panel.
Fortunately for NASA the damaged tiles were part of a carrier panel which was easily replaced by a spare carrier panel that fit perfectly. No delay of the launch is expected as repairs have been completed.
The launch from Cape Canaveral in Florida on Wednesday is scheduled for 3:51 p.m. (1951 GMT).
