Space Shuttle Atlantis Launch Postponed a Day
NASA has delayed the launch of Space Shuttle Atlantis to the International Space Station until tomorrow after two fuel sensors appeared to malfunction.
Launch Director Doug Lyons scrubbed the launch for the day at 9:56 a.m. EST after two of four LH2 Engine Cutoff (ECO) sensors failed to respond appropriately. This was a Launch Commit Violation as 3 of the 4 sensors are required to be functioning for a launch to proceed.
Launch is now scheduled for tomorrow at 4:09 p.m. EST. NASA will brief the press today at tentatively scheduled press conference at 4 p.m. which will can be seen on NASA TV.
