Now Online at NASA: Going Where No One Has Gone Before

Among the items on the new NASA education website is a video designed to answer that perennial question asked for decades by children everywhere anytime an astronaut speaks.

Of course, that question that popped up right on cue today as NASA unveild its new Educator Mission Specialist Program: “how do you go to the bathroom in space?

NASA has recruited the always photogenic Phil West to go where no one at NASA has gone before – online. The result is a perfectly tasteful and humorous video explanation of this popular topic – done with Phil’s usual style.

Among the never before seen devices is the camera (often dubbed ‘pottycam’ or ‘toiletcam’) positioned within the training version of the toilet which is used to help train astronauts in how to get “perfect alignment” while using the system.
