NASA staff will be meeting with members of Congress and their staff this week on a variety of topics.

On Tuesday, The full House Appropriations Committee will mark up several bills – including the FY 2006 Science, State, Justice, and Commerce Appropriations bill which includes NASA’s budget.

Also on Tuesday, 7 June, NASA Associate Adminstrator for Exploration Systems Mission Directorate Craig Steidle will meet with Rep. Russ Carnahan (D-MO) to discuss the Vision for Space Exploration (VSE).

NASA Adminstrator Mike Griffin will also be meeting with a number of politicians this week regarding the VSE. On Wednesday, 8 June, Griffin meets with Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH). On Thursday, 9 June, Griffin is scheduled to meet and discuss the VSE with Gov Jeb Bush (R-FL) and Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL).

On Thursday there will be a meeting between NASA’s Chief Financial Officer Gwen Brown and House Science Committee Staff regarding NASA’s second quarter financial statements.

On Friday, Acting NASA Comptroller Doug Comstock and Deputy NASA Comptroller for Appropriations Mary Dee Kerwin will make a presentation on NASA’s FY 2005 Operating Plan to staff of both the House and Senate Appropriations Committees. Also on Friday, NASA Deputy Chief Education Officer Bernice Alston will make a presentation to staffers from the office of Rep. Bud Cramer (D-AL)
