The Cassini spacecraft which flew by Titan earlier today has started to return detailed images of Titan and its surface. The small circular shape which looks like a doughnut on the right side of several of the images is an artifact created by Cassini’s camera.

These are the best images of Titan we have ever seen. Later this evening higher resolution images will be available. Sharp surface features are visible as are clouds.

These are raw images that have yet to be processed.
