Chandra Provides Intimate X-ray View of Supernova 1987A

Supernova 1987AAccording to NASA: “X-ray observations have captured a shock wave moving through space ahead of debris resulting from the explosion of Supernova 1987A. This
shock wave is colliding with materials outside the debris ring, heating it to millions of degrees, and causing it to glow.”
