VOYAGER MISSION OPERATIONS STATUS REPORT #1173, APRIL 21 – APRIL 27, 2001

COMMAND TRANSMISSION & VERIFICATION OPERATIONS

Voyager 1 command operations consisted of the uplink of a command loss timer reset on 04/24[DOY 114/2345z]. The spacecraft received the command.

Voyager 2 command operations consisted of the uplink a command loss timer reset and the CCSL B111 on 04/24 [DOY 114/1819z]. The spacecraft received all commands and the CCSL was verified.

SEQUENCE GENERATION OPERATIONS

No sequence development activity during this report period

DATA RETURN OPERATIONS

Voyager 1 Data Processing and Operations:

There were 111.2 hours of DSN scheduled support for Voyager 1 of which 75.8 hours were large aperture coverage. There were no real-time or schedule support changes made or significant outages during the period.

Science instrument performance was nominal for all activities during this period. One frame of GS-4 data was recorded this week. Twenty-six frames of GS4 data were played back on April 26. Approximately 97% of the data were recovered. The EDR backlog is 16 days.

Voyager 2 Data Processing and Operations:

There were 69.1 hours of DSN scheduled support for Voyager 2 of which 12.6 hours were large aperture coverage. There was one real-time change made on 04/25 [DOY 111] when 5.7 hours of DSS-45 support was released to support MOIO safing. The total actual support for the period was 63.4 hours of which 12.6 hours were large aperture coverage.

There was one significant outage of 0.6 hours duration on 04/25 [DOY 115] due to a procedural problem [DR A04330].

Science instrument performance was nominal for all activities during this period. One frame of GS-4 data was recorded this week. The EDR backlog is 16 days.

FLIGHT SYSTEM PERFORMANCE

Voyager 1 performance was nominal during this report period. Activities included a PMPCAL on 4/25 (DOY 115) , X-Band Hi Power on 4/25 (DOY 116), PWS DTR Playback on 4/26 (DOY 116), and Gyros BC ON on 4/26 (DOY 117).

Voyager 2 performance was nominal during this report period.
