At its peak, the medieval settlement of Angkor, Cambodia, was the most extensive urban complex in the world, home to more than a million people.
Now, centuries later, an international team has created an expanded archaeological map of greater Angkor, revealing many previously undiscovered features. Learn and see more in a new slide show online at:

The map was created from data gathered by various sources, including the NASA/Jet Propulsion Laboratory-developed Topographic Synthetic Aperture Radar/Airborne Synthetic Aperture Radar (Topsar/Airsar) imaging system.
