Space Walks

ESA’s astronauts tell the story

Background information on the transmission:

For every astronaut, a space walk is the ultimate challenge. In the next five years, the construction of the International Space Station will make more extra-vehicular activities necessary than ever before. Jean-Pierre HaignÈrÈ, Thomas Reiter and Claude Nicollier are the three ESA astronauts who have already done a walk in space.

Today’s transmission tells the story of these mens’ space walk experience, and includes soundbites (German and English), stunning in-orbit video recordings from Shuttle and Mir misisons, and video footage from space walk training in Star City and Houston.

The 5-minute edited A-roll with English commentary (split audio tracks) is complemented by a B-roll with the unedited material.
