France sends an ESA astronaut to the ISS

Background information on the transmission:

The French Ministry of Research announced late last year plans that the French ESA astronaut Claudie Andrè-Deshays will be visiting the International Space Station in October 2001.

The negotiations for this mission are in the final stages. Today, the ESA TV Service transmits images of Claudie Andrè-Deshays current ISS training at Star City and soundbites with the astronaut, both recorded in November 2000. The transmission also includes images of her first mission, on Mir, back in 1996.
