Terra Weekly Mission Status Update – September 13 – 19, 2002
The Terra spacecraft is in nominal mode. All instruments are in Science Mode.
The MODIS B-side formatter was activated as planned on September 17. The E-PROM
patch will be implemented on September 24.
Planning continues for execution of the final burn in the series of six
Inclination Adjust Maneuvers for Terra. This will place the descending node
slightly later than 10:31 a.m. (local time) equatorial crossing, and sustain the
desired orbital relationship with SAC-C. The maneuver is currently planned for
September 25, but may be deferred until early October pending implementation of
on-board table and procedural modifications recommended by the spacecraft vendor
and Terra Flight Operations Team.
Preliminary planning continues for the Terra Deep Space and Lunar Calibration
Maneuvers, tentatively scheduled for December 2002.
Terra Flight Operations Team personnel continue to work with the prototype Solid
State Recorder Playback Automation Tool. This tool has the potential to simplify
the current scheduling process by accommodating special events such as Tracking
and Data Relay Satellite System schedule changes or missed playbacks.
The next MODIS lunar calibration roll maneuver is scheduled for September 26.
