The Terra spacecraft is in nominal mode. All instruments are in Science Mode.

The MODIS formatter continues to experience a large number of resets. The anomaly team reconvened on July 25 and held a Command Authorization Meeting (CAM) to present the final plan for implementation of the hardware swap. No firm date has been set for the execution of the swap. A final Go-CAM will be held prior to execution.

ESMOS Project and the Project Scientists for both Terra and Aqua held a meeting on July 25 to discuss implementation of a coordinated plan between Terra and Aqua for implementation of the Deep Space Calibration Maneuver(s). The consensus reached is that Terra would proceed toward implementation of the maneuver before Aqua. Analysis to determine optimal dates for execution, including lunar constraints and other issues, will be conducted for the late fall time frame to select the target date(s) for implementation. The Deep Space Calibration Maneuver will be conducted subsequent to the last Inclination Adjust Maneuver, now scheduled for September, following the implementation of on-board Telemetry Monitor (TMON) and table changes specific to propulsive maneuvers as recommended by Valley Forge.

TERRA PLANS:

  • A MODIS calibration lunar roll maneuver is scheduled for July 29;
  • The next Inclination Adjust Maneuver is planned for September
