Terra Weekly Mission Status Update 8-14 Dec 2000
The spacecraft continues to perform exceptionally well and all five of Terra’s sensors are currently operating nominally in science mode.
On December 8, the Terra Flight Operations Team experience a failed ground contact with SGS as a result of a bit-sync problem at the antenna site. Also, there were two failures of the high gain antenna during passes through the South Atlantic Anomaly on December 9 and 11. These issues were all quickly resolved and there was no loss of data.
A Terra Master Oscillator frequency adjust was conducted on December 12. The Flight Ops Team notes that the ASTER sensor has two telemetry points (AST_TR_S_FINGER_B and AST_TR_S_COVER2A_MX) that are approaching Yellow High Limit. The ASTER team is aware of this and is analyzing the situation.
On December 15, there will be a MODIS roll maneuver. Due to the STGT outage, Terra will use the TDRS East satellite to relay data to the ground station. On December 29, the Flight Ops Team will support the ASTER field campaign.
