Terra Status Report November 29 – December 5, 2002
The Terra spacecraft is nominal. All instruments are in Science Mode, except the MOPITT instrument, which is in standby mode.
After a decontamination sequence on December 4, the MOPITT instrument was placed in standby mode with coolers off as a result of commands that apparently did not execute onboard the instrument. The instrument and spacecraft are in no danger and an anomaly team is investigating the decontamination event and anomalous command response. The coolers are expected to be turned back on and the instrument restored to operational status within a few days.
A series of yaw maneuvers for MODIS calibration were successfully executed on December 5.
TERRA PLANS:
- Conduct Deep Space Calibration review with NASA HQ Code Q on December 12.
- Continue planning for next series of MODIS calibration yaw maneuvers.
- Execute lunar roll for MODIS calibration on December 24.
