Description

The National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) has an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) requirement for technical services in support of the NIST Background Infrared Facility and the Medium Background Facilities in the Optical Technology Division. This type of services required include (1) labor in the following categories: Senior PhD Scientists, PhD Scientists, Senior MA/MS Scientists, MA/MS Scientists, Senior Scientists, Scientists, Senior Technical Assistants, and /or Technical Assistants; and (2) research and service assistance utilizing Government furnished laboratory equipment and facilities to accomplish tasks for NASA and DOD in the areas of (a) Operation and maintenance of the Medium Background Infrared Facility, (b) Operation and maintenance of the Low Background Infrared Facility, (c) Operation and maintenance of the Optical Properties of Materials Facility, (d) Operation and maintenance of infrared transfer radiometers required of NIST by other government agencies such as NASA and DOD. A detailed Statement of Work (SOW) will be available in the solicitation package. The period of performance will be twelve (12) months from the date of contract award, with the option to extend for four (4) 12-month periods. This requirement is 100% small business set-aside. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 541710, with a size standard of 500 employees. All interested small business firms may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the agency. The competitive solicitation, solicitation amendments, and all questions and answers related to this procurement will be made available via the Internet at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. The solicitation, SB1341-03-R-0039, is anticipated for release to the vendor community on or about July 18, 2003 and will only be available via the Internet at the above web site. Potential offerors are responsible for accessing the web site. Interested parties must respond to the solicitation in order to be considered for award of any resultant contract. There is no written solicitation document available, telephone requests will not be honored, and no bidders list will be maintained.
