On 13 January 2003, ESA’s Rosetta space probe will be launched on a nine-year voyage to comet Wirtanen. Rosetta will be the first probe to land on a comet. Today’s transmission is the fourth in a series of five TV Exchanges on Rosetta, and features the investigation of the comet’s tail by the Rosetta orbiter. The comet tail is made of cometary matter vaporized by the radiation of the Sun, and the instruments on Rosetta will make a comprehensive chemical and physical analysis of the particles the tail is composed of.

The programme comprises of a 8-minute A-roll with split track and commentary and is complemented by a B-Roll with clean international sound. The script is on-line as a PDF document under http://television.esa.int/photos/EbS27434.pdf
