Background information on the transmission:

This ESA TV Exchanges feed is transmitted by the European Commission’s “Europe by Satellite” (EbS) service. You can find the complete transmission schedule and download scripts and shot lists, also for ESA TV items, from the EbS Web site at http://europa..eu.int/comm/ebs/index.html

The description of the state and evolution of our land, otherwise known as global land cover mapping, is becoming increasingly important for many scientific and commercial ventures. Envisat’s ASAR instrument will play a crucial part in the study of our changing climate,in particular global warming and also allows for the commercial monitoring of global crop production and trade.

This transmission is the fourth of eight ESA TV Exchange Programmes on Envisat’s science and application promises.

The 8-minute A-roll contains split audio with an English guide track and is complemented by a B-roll with two interviews in clean international sound. The script is on-line as a PDF document under http://television.esa.int/photos/EbS21868.pdf
