Background information on the transmission:
This programme is the 1st in a series of three ESA TV Exchanges about views of the Earth from Space.
Generations of manned space missions have carried film and photographic cameras, and a series of “optical” satellites have allowed us to build up a complex picture of our planet. We can take a bird’s eye view of hurricanes, we can follow the flow of rivers – we can even sweep down onto city streets. This transmission is a compilation of the most interesting, stunning, or just most beautiful pictures of the Earth as seen by a human eye from Space.
The 5-minute A-roll contains split audio with an English guide track and is complemented by a B-roll with international sound only. The script is on-line as of tomorrow as a PDF document under http://television.esa.int/photos/EbS23579.pdf
