Description

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has decided to remove the Johnson Space Center (JSC) Mission Operations requirement from the upcoming Space Mission Communications and Data Services (SMCDS) solicitation. This action was indicated in the December 18, 2002 Industry Briefing and the decision is now final. The SMCDS solicitation will succeed the current NASA Consolidated Space Operations Contract (CSOC), which will expire in December 2003. The Draft RFP for the SMCDS solicitation is currently scheduled for release in March 2003. Individual work package site visits are being considered during a time frame shortly after release of the Draft RFP. The final RFP is scheduled for release in April 2003. Additional updates and details related to the SMCDS procurement can be found on the current SMCDS current web site at http://www.nasa.gov/newsinfo/contracts/smcds.html. This web site is expected to change to http://foundation.hq.nasa.gov/newsinfo/contracts/smcds.html on February 1.
