Description
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) plans to release a Draft Request For Proposals for the Space Mission Communications and Data Services (SMCDS) solicitation on or about March 7, 2003. The solicitation will contain five separate work packages as follows: 1. GSFC Mission Operation & Mission Support (MOMS) 2. GSFC Near Earth Networks Services (NENS) 3. KSC Kennedy Integrated Communications Services (KICS) 4. MFSC The Huntsville Operations Support Center (HOSC) 5. MFSC Unified NASA Information Technology Services (UNITeS) NASA has decided that the KSC KICS work package and the MSFC HOSC work package will be competed within the SMCDS procurement as 100 percent small business set-aside competitions. The remaining three work packages will be competed as unrestricted (full and open) competitions. Individual work package site visits are scheduled shortly after release of the Draft RFP. Recently updated instructions and detailed information for each work package site visit has been posted at the following web site: http://foundation.hq.nasa.gov/newsinfo/contracts/smcds.html The SMCDS solicitation will succeed the current NASA Consolidated Space Operations Contract (CSOC) and the MSFC PrISMS Contract, which expire in December 2003. The final RFP is currently scheduled for release in April 2003. Additional updates and details related to the SMCDS procurement can be found on the SMCDS web site that is listed above.
