**** SPACE WEATHER OUTLOOK ****
Summary For May 28-June 3
Space weather reached minor levels during the period. A brief category
G1 (minor) geomagnetic storm occurred on June 02 as high-speed solar
winds (associated with a coronal hole) buffeted the Earth’s magnetic
field. Category G1 geomagnetic storms typically result in minor adverse
effects on power grids and spacecraft operations (for a complete list
of adverse system effects, please refer to the NOAA Space Weather
Scales).
Outlook For June 6-12
Space weather is expected to remain at minor levels. Isolated category
R1 (minor) radio blackouts will be possible during the period. Brief
category G1 geomagnetic storm conditions will be possible during June 7
– 8 due to increased solar wind velocities associated with a coronal
hole.
