Space Station Crew Conducts Medical Drill
The Expedition 7 crewmembers — Commander Yuri Malenchenko and NASA ISS Science Officer Ed Lu — conducted an emergency medical operations drill Thursday aboard the International Space Station. The training is mandatory for all Station crews and lasted one hour. In other activities, Malenchenko checked out and cleaned the Russian segment’s ventilation system, and Lu worked with the U.S. spacesuits.
A Progress cargo ship will deliver about 2,404 kilograms (5,300 pounds) of supplies and equipment to the ISS next week. Progress 11 is scheduled to launch from Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan, at 5:34 a.m. CDT (1034 GMT) June 8 and dock with ISS at 6:17 a.m. (1117 GMT) June 11. NASA TV will provide coverage of the docking beginning at 5:30 a.m. CDT (1030 GMT) June 11.
