LOCATION: Vehicle Assembly Building high bay 3
TARGET KSC LAUNCH DATE/TIME: Jan. 18, 2001 at 2:44 a.m. EST
TARGET KSC LANDING DATE/TIME: Jan. 28, 2001 at 10:03 p.m.
LAUNCH WINDOW:  less than 5 minutes
MISSION DURATION: 10 days, 19 hours and 19 minutes
CREW: Cockrell, Polansky, Curbeam, Jones, Ivins
ORBITAL ALTITUDE and INCLINATION: 177 nautical miles/51.6 degrees
 
Shuttle Processing Note: Space Shuttle managers today gave KSC ground crews the go ahead to begin preparation for the rollout of Shuttle Atlantis to Launch Pad 39A.  Pending final closure of the ongoing solid rocket booster (SRB) cable connector evaluation, expected to conclude this weekend, managers plan to transfer Atlantis to the pad Monday at about 7 a.m.  The STS-98 launch date remains targeted for Jan. 18.

LOCATION: Orbiter Processing Facility (OPF) bay 1
TARGET KSC LAUNCH DATE/TIME: Mar. 1, 2001 at 9:40 a.m. EST
TARGET KSC LANDING DATE/TIME: Mar. 13, 2001 at 5:15 a.m.
LAUNCH WINDOW:  less than 5 minutes
MISSION DURATION: 11 days
CREW: Wetherbee, Kelly, Thomas, Richards; (up) Voss, Helms, Usachev; (down) Shepherd, Gidzenko, Krikalev
ORBITAL ALTITUDE and INCLINATION: 177 nautical miles/51.6 degrees
 
 

Shuttle Processing Note:  Workers have completed replacement of the damaged thrusters in the right-hand orbital maneuvering system pod along with subsequent leak tests.  Over the weekend, technicians will replace the left-hand OMS pod thrusters.  When all thruster replacements are completed, technicians will proceed with thruster bellows X-ray efforts.  The payload premate test is ongoing and replacement of fuel cell No. 2 is in work.  Next week, auxiliary power unit leak and functional testing is scheduled, as well as main propulsion system testing.

Shuttle Processing Note: Orbiter Endeavour’s payload bay doors are open. Workers are scheduled to remove the 3-D IMAX camera from the payload bay this week.  Orbital maneuvering system valve draining begins this weekend also.
