MISSION: STS-109 – HST Servicing Mission 3B

VEHICLE: Columbia/OV-102

TARGET KSC LAUNCH DATE: Feb. 28, 2002 at 6:48 a.m.

TARGET KSC LANDING DATE: March 11, 2002 at 3:33 a.m.

MISSION DURATION: 11 days

CREW: Altman, Carey, Grunsfeld, Currie, Newman, Linnehan, Massimino

ORBITAL INSERTION ALTITUDE and INCLINATION: 308 nautical miles/28.5 degrees

Shuttle Processing Note: Final preparations for the launch of Shuttle Columbia on the Feb. 28 STS-109 mission continue on schedule at Pad A. The Countdown Demonstration Test was completed on Friday and the helium signature test is in progress. Hypergolic servicing of the vehicle starts Wednesday and the Auxiliary Power Units (APU’s) will undergo hot fire tests on Friday. The lube oil in APU No.3 will be drained in order to replace a faulty transducer in the unit. Final cleaning of the payload bay is complete and the Hubble payload will be delivered to the pad early next week.

MISSION: STS-110 – 13th ISS Flight (8A) – ITS SO TRUSS AND MOBILE TRANSPORTER

VEHICLE: Atlantis/OV-104

TARGET KSC LAUNCH DATE: April 4, 2002

TARGET KSC LANDING DATE: April 15, 2002

MISSION DURATION: 11 days

CREW: Bloomfield, Frick, Ross, Smith, Ochoa, Morin, Walheim

ORBITAL INSERTION ALTITUDE and INCLINATION: 122 nautical miles/51.6 degrees

Shuttle Processing Note: ShuttÈ”ˆtlantis is in the Orbiter Processing Facility (OPF) being readied for the STS-110 space station mission scheduled for April 4. Repairs to attach point No. 5 in the left hand Orbiter Maneuvering System (OMS) are complete and the pod has been re-installed. The right hand pod will be pulled tomorrow to inspect the attach point bolts and make repairs if necessary. The Crew Equipment and Interface Test was completed over the weekend.

MISSION: STS-111 – 14th ISS flight (UF2) – MPLM

TARGET KSC LANDING DATE: May 13, 2002

CREW: Cockrell, Lockhart, Chang-Diaz, Perrin; (ISS up) Korzun, Whitson, Treschev; (ISS down) Onufrienko, Bursch, Walz

ORBITAL INSERTION ALTITUDE and INCLINATION: 122 nautical miles/51.6 degrees

Shuttle Processing Note: Processing of Shuttle Endeavour continues in the OPF. Change out of three thrusters in the right hand OMS pod will be completed tonight and mid-body configurations are in work.

Shuttle Processing Note: Orbiter Discovery is in the OPF awaiting a decision by Shuttle managers on the content, schedule and location for the structural inspection and modification down period.
