STRUCTURAL INSPECTION & MODIFICATION PERIOD
VEHICLE: Discovery/OV-103
LOCATION: Orbiter Processing Facility bay 2
Shuttle Processing Note: Post-flight deservicing of orbiter Discovery
continues to go well. Workers have completed helium venting on the forward
reaction control system. Discovery’s main engine heat shields are being
removed today and the forward reaction control system will be pulled from
the orbiter’s nose later this week.
Orbiter Discovery is scheduled to begin a thorough structural inspection and
modification period after STS-105 post-flight work concludes. Shuttle
managers continue to assess the content and schedule of this planned work
period.
