Space Shuttle Processing Status 29 Jul 2002
MISSION STS-107 -SPACEHAB/ FREESTAR MICROGRAVITY RESEARCH MISSION
VEHICLE – Columbia/OV-102
LAUNCH DATE: TBD
MISSION DURATION: 16 days
CREW: Husband, McCool, Anderson, Chawla, Brown, Clark, Ramon
ORBITAL INSERTION ALTITUDE AND INCLINATION: 150 nautical miles/39 degrees
Shuttle Processing Note: Following inspections of Columbia’s Main Propulsion
System (MPS) flow liners that identified three cracks on engine No. 2 liquid
hydrogen flow liner, mission managers delayed the launch date until a full
engineering analysis could be completed. Nominal processing has been
finished in preparation for Columbia’s research mission and after a decision
has been made as to how to resolve the flow liner issues, a launch date will
be set.

ORBITAL ALTITUDE AND INCLINATION: 122 nautical miles, 51.6 degrees
Shuttle Processing Note: Processing continues for Atlantis’ launch to the
International Space Station. Orbital Maneuvering System (OMS)/Reaction
Control System (RCS) electrical verification is in work and OMS/RCS flight
controls checkout is complete. Multifunction Electronic Display Subsystem
(MEDS) checkout is scheduled for this week. Atlantis’ payload bay doors were
closed last week in preparation for rollover once the flow liner issue is

Shuttle Processing Note: Processing continues for Endeavour’s launch to the
International Space Station and will be scheduled once the flow liner issue
is resolved. The Multi-Purpose Logistics Module was removed from the payload
bay, as deservicing continues from Endeavour’s previous mission. Fuel cell
verification is complete. OMS pod checkout and replacement of windows No. 6
and 8 are in work.
