forecasters continue to monitor the weather in preparation for Shuttle
Endeavour’s cross-country ferry flight. The orbiter has been mated to NASA’s
Shuttle Carrier Aircraft, a modified Boeing 747, and will depart from
California enroute to Kennedy Space Center when weather allows.

CREW: Husband, McCool, Anderson, Chawla, Brown, Clark, Ramon

ORBITAL INSERTION ALTITUDE AND INCLINATION: 150 nautical miles/39 degrees

Shuttle Processing Note: After discovering small cracks on the LH2 Main
Propulsion System (MPS) flow liners in two Orbiters, program managers
decided to move forward with inspections on Columbia before clearing it for
flight. As technicians plan for the inspections, preparations for Space
Shuttle Main Engine heat shield removal are in work, followed by the removal
of the three main engines. Inspections of the flow liners should begin next

VEHICLE: Discovery/OV-103

Shuttle Processing Note: After technicians inspected Discovery for cracks in
the MPS flow liners, it was moved yesterday from the Orbiter Processing
Facility back to the Vehicle Assembly Building to await the start of its
Orbiter Major Modification (OMM) period that is scheduled to begin at the
Kennedy Space Center late this summer.
