MISSION STS-112 — 15TH ISS FLIGHT (9A) – S1 Truss Segment

Shuttle Processing Note: The Space Shuttle Atlantis undocked from the
International Space Station yesterday and is making preparations to return
to Earth tomorrow after a successful mission installing the S1 Truss
Segment.

Landing at KSC’s Shuttle Landing Facility (SLF) is slated to occur on orbit
170 at mission elapsed time 10 days, 19 hours, 58 minutes. The deorbit burn
will occur at about 10:36 a.m. EDT. A second KSC landing opportunity is also
available on Oct. 18 at 1:21 p.m. EDT with a deorbit burn coming at 12:16
p.m. EDT. No landing opportunities are planned for the back-up landing
location at Edwards Air Force Base (EAFB), Calif., on Friday.

If managers must keep Atlantis in orbit an additional day, two landing
opportunities are available at KSC on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 10:31 a.m. EDT
and at 12:06 p.m. EDT.

MISSION: STS-113 – 16th ISS Flight (11A) – P1 Truss Segment

• TARGET LAUNCH DATE: Nov. 10, 2002
• TARGET LAUNCH TIME: 10:30 p.m. (Nov. 9) – 2:30 a.m. (Nov. 10)
• TARGET LANDING DATE: Nov. 20, 2002
• MISSION DURATION: 11 days
• CREW: Wetherbee, Lockhart, Lopez-Alegria, Herrington; (ISS up) Bowersox, Budarin, Pettit; (ISS down) Korzun, Whitson, Treschev
• ORBITAL ALTITUDE AND INCLINATION: 122 nautical miles/51.6 degrees

Shuttle Processing Note: Space Shuttle Endeavour is at Launch Pad 39-A
following its Oct. 12 rollout. The primary payload, P1 Truss, has been
installed into the orbiter’s payload bay and the Terminal Countdown
Demonstration Test is in work this week. Pad validations are complete.
Preparation for propellant load scheduled for next week is currently in
work.

MISSION STS-107 -SPACEHAB/ FREESTAR MICROGRAVITY RESEARCH MISSION

• TARGET LANDING DATE: Feb. 1, 2003
• MISSION DURATION: 16 days
• CREW: Husband, McCool, Anderson, Chawla, Brown, Clark, Ramon
• ORBITAL INSERTION ALTITUDE AND INCLINATION: 150 nautical miles/39 degrees

Shuttle Processing Note: Columbia continues processing in preparation for
its research mission scheduled for no earlier than Jan. 16. Polishing and
welding on the flow-liners is complete and final cleaning in work. Engine
installation is scheduled to begin late Friday.

ORBITER MAJOR MODIFICATION PERIOD VEHICLE: Discovery/OV-103

Shuttle Processing Note: The Orbiter Major Modification (OMM) period for
Discovery continues at KSC with wire inspections in the crew module set to
continue this week.
