of the orbiter’s radiators are scheduled this week.

Shuttle Processing Note: Technicians have completed installation of
Columbia’s right hand orbiter maneuvering system (OMS) pod and have
concluded preparation to install the orbiter’s forward reaction control
system (FRCS). This week, workers will install the FRCS and the right hand
OMS pod. Columbia’s fuel cell system will undergo checks this week, while
OMS pod checks are conducted.

LOCATION: Vehicle Assembly Building high bay 4

Shuttle Processing Note: Orbiter Atlantis is being stored in Vehicle
Assembly Building (VAB) high bay 4 while orbiter Discovery undergoes
post-flight processing. Atlantis could move to the OPF as early as
Thursday.
STRUCTURAL INSPECTION & MODIFICATION PERIOD
VEHICLE: Discovery/OV-103
LOCATION: Orbiter Processing Facility bay 2
Shuttle Processing Note: Technicians have removed Discovery’s three main
engines and the forward reaction control system. Preparation is under way
for payload bay door closure later this week. Discovery’s post-flight work
proceeds on schedule toward a transfer to VAB high bay 4 as early as
Thursday. Managers will assess local weather conditions to determine the
best time for Discovery and Atlantis to swap locations.
Orbiter Discovery is scheduled to begin a thorough structural inspection and
modification period after STS-105 post-flight work concludes. Shuttle
managers continue to assess the content, schedule and location of this
planned work period. A decision is expected in mid-September.
