Shuttle Processing Note: Pre-launch preparations remain on schedule for the April 4 STS-110 flight to the International Space Station. At pad B, aft closeouts of Shuttle Atlantis and the twin Solid Rocket Boosters were completed on Sunday. The seven STS-110 astronaut crewmembers arrived at the Kennedy Space Center about noon and spent an hour in the Payload Changeout Room at the pad performing a final inspection of the S-Zero Truss/Mobile Transporter payload and identifying any sharp edges they may encounter during the mission’s four scheduled spacewalks. The payload doors were closed after the astronauts departed for their crew quarters.
The forecast for the launch period on Thursday predicts a 40% probability of weather prohibiting launch because of the possibility of a low cloud ceiling with thunderstorms and precipitation in the area.
