The Space Shuttle Endeavour may land as early as Tuesday morning,
concluding mission STS-100 to the International Space Station.
Shuttle mission managers are weighing the advisability of landing at
NASA Dryden Flight Research Center on Edwards Air Force Base, Calif.,
if weather over Florida threatens a landing there.

Although Florida remains the most likely choice for landing, two
opportunities to land at Edwards on Tuesday are also under
consideration. If a decision is made to land at Edwards Tuesday,
touchdown would be either 9:11 a.m. or 10:47 a.m., both Pacific time.
Mission controllers could decide to keep Endeavour in orbit longer,
based on weather forecasts, and land not later than Friday. The
Shuttles save between $750,000 to $1 million by landing at Florida,
precluding the need to be transported there for future missions.
Landings at Dryden are made when weather precludes Florida operations.

Media representatives planning to cover the landing on-site should
fax a request for accreditation to (661) 276-3566 or phone the Dryden
public affairs office at (661) 276-3449. News media wishing to view
the landing from the media viewing site near the landing runway need
to arrive at the Dryden public affairs office, Bldg. 4839, 2 1/2
hours prior to the landing. A convoy to transport news media to the
site will depart the Dryden public affairs office two hours before
the first scheduled landing time.

Television media desiring to make live transmission must contact NASA
Dryden public affairs in advance for frequency check scheduling, and
should plan to arrive at the Dryden public affairs office three hours
prior to the first landing opportuunity. Broadcast crews must have a
copy of their transmitter license with their equipment. There will be
a mandatory full-up frequency test approximately two hours prior to
any planned live broadcast to avoid interference with frequencies
used by NASA or the Air Force. For further information, please
contact the Dryden frequency management office at (661) 276-2717.
