Space Product Development Weekly Highlights – May 13, 2002

SPD "In-Reach" Meeting at NASA Headquarters: On 5/7/02, the Space Product Development (SPD) Program held its annual "In-Reach" meeting at NASA Headquarters. Otherwise known as the Commercial Space Centers Projects Overview for Headquarters Personnel, the 2-hour meeting’s main focus was a series of presentations by Commercial Space Center (CSC) Directors to NASA Headquarters VIPs. The presentations described the achievements and status of ongoing projects at the CSC’s for the information and education of upper NASA management. Attendance reached almost 70 and included a large number of Associate Administrators (AA’s) and other executives including Courtney Stadd, NASA Chief of Staff , Shannon Lucid, NASA Chief Scientist, and Dan Mulville, NASA Associate Deputy Administrator. Hosted by Mary Kicza, new AA for the Office of Biological and Physical Research (OBPR), the meeting was very successful in updating NASA management in the accomplishments and wide range of commercial products in development through the SPD Program, the CSC’s and their commercial partners.
