SOHO Weekly Meeting Minutes Week 20, 13 – 19 May 2002

1. Announcements

* Monday, 3 June is the next MM/SK date. Friday, 31 May or Sunday
2 June can be used for safing instruments, but SOCs need to be notified
in advance if any team plans to safe an instrument on the Sunday,
since a SOC needs to be in the EOF during the safing.

* Visit of 2 House Appropriations Committee staffers will be 17 May
from 1-1:30pm local time.

* Come celebrate the success of RHESSI, the first satellite named
for a Goddard scientist! Please join us at the Friday, May 17,
Scientific Colloquium, in the Goddard Building 8 Auditorium,
starting at 3:30 pm, for the following activities:
. Presentation to Mrs. Ramaty
. Colloquium by V. Ramanathan, “Aerosols and Climate – A Hazy
Future for the Blue Planet?”
. Reception for Mrs. Ramaty, the RHESSI Team, and Prof. Ramanathan
Coffee and tea will be served at 3:00 pm, courtesy of GEWA.

Thursday – Commanding is good all day.

Saturday – Command on D66 until 15 UT then D/L only until
17:30 UT then D16 until 22 UT then D27.
Sunday – Command on D66 until 16 UT then D27.

Relevant Notes

CDS: Usual weekly studies on Monday. Coronal magnetometry starts
Tuesday. This study will run daily at 15 UT targeting an active
region on the limb. JOP104 for Tuesday through Friday. The usual
weekend studies are planned for Saturday and Sunday.

SUMER: JOP104 continues.

UVCS: Ulysses quadrature observations and synoptics. May 18 is the
quadrature date and the quadrature position angle is 45.5 degrees,
off the northeast limb.

LASCO: C2/C3 synoptics.

EIT: Half-resolution 195 Angstrom CME watch and synoptics.
EIT will support the coronal magnetometry study.

MDI: Full disk magnetograms and dopplergrams for continuous contact.

TRACE: Following an active region and, if a suitable target is available,
TRACE might support JOP104.
