ANNOUNCEMENTS

* NASA Administrator Sean O’Keefe will be visiting the EOF between
3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. today.

* Testing of the new CMS will be done between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. today.
Regular commanding will not be enabled at that time. LASCO and MDI will
send dummy commands to the spacecraft simulator.

Spacecraft Anomalies: None

Accomplished Activities:
DOY 018: VIRGO, CELIAS, RSL,
Disabled STD MON 24 and 31 (leaving BCR1 OFF)
DOY 019: VIRGO, CELIAS
DOY 020: VIRGO
DOY 021: VIRGO, SWAN

Planned Activities: VIRGO, RSL, New control star, mag = 7.2

Upcoming Operations: CEPAC S/W upload on Thursday, 1/24.

Ground Anomalies:
019/0011 Wayward command delayed transition from MDI-M to
MDI-H 6 minutes.
020/0341 Commanding activities delayed 10 minutes due to a
CPA failure at D46. DR #C100835.
020/1244 CMS socket to the EOF SOC machine went down due to
network problems. Failed over to backup CMS.
020/1937 NRT commanding delayed 31 minutes due to CMS
software running on both SH6CM1 and SH6CM2, and the
SOC unable to connect to the proper port.
021/1213 SH4WS2 and SH4XT1 crashed, cause unknown. Failed
operations over to String 5. Impacts TBD.

Other: SSR dump at the beginning of Thursday’s D54 support.

INSTRUMENT STATUS

CDS: Nominal. Full sun study today. Wednesday – ICAL01 with EIT,
and JOP151.

UVCS: Nominal. Coronal hole observations finished yesterday. Today
JOP151 at 275 degrees (AR9782) and synoptic. Wednesday – TBD.

LASCO: Nominal. C2/C3 synoptics and JOP151 support.

EIT: Nominal. 195 Angstrom CME watch and synoptics. ICAL01 tomorrow
with CDS. EIT is also supporting JOP151.

MDI: Nominal. Full disk magnetograms and dopplergrams for continuous
contact. Supporting JOP151.

TRACE: Nominal. Today TRACE is observing a filament in the north, staying
in 171 Angstrom. Tomorrow’s plans TBD.
