ANNOUNCEMENTS

* Due to the phase-out of Level Zero CDROM production, file transfers to the
EAF may at times cause QuickLooks to be about 2 hours delayed. The situation
has been like this for a few weeks. If you have significant problems due to
this, or if there are special days or time periods where you expect problems
due to this, please inform the SOCs so the file transfers can be put on hold.

* It may be impossible to access MDI data Saturday, 05 January
since they are re-arranging the computer room at Stanford.

* DSS-16 is in maintenance and won’t be up until week 2 or so of 2002.

* LASCO and EIT running difference images in java can be seen at:
http://lasco-www.nrl.navy.mil/javagif/

INSTRUMENT STATUS

CDS: Nominal. JOP151 on east limb, map of the active regions at
disk center and polarity study in the north today. Weekend –
sunspot study on AR 9767 and JOP151 support.

UVCS: Nominal. After mini synoptics finish at 7 UT, UVCS returns to
JOP151 observations on the east limb, then active region streamer
study on AR 9754 and long synoptics. Tomorrow – JOP151 on the west limb
including AR 9764 and 9755. Sunday – 24-hour synoptics.

LASCO: Nominal. C2/C3 synoptics supporting JOP151. Color sequences
will be taken daily in C3 in preparation for the comet observations
that begin Sunday.

EIT: Nominal. 195 Angstrom CME watch, synoptics, and JOP151.

MDI: Nominal. Full disk campaign of magnetograms and dopplergrams.
Supporting JOP151. Monthly calibrations are planned for this
afternoon.

TRACE: Nominal. Observing AR 9767 today.
