The remnants of Cyclone Hudhud, passing northwest from India into Nepal on October 13 and 14, 2014, caused a severe blizzard trapping many hikers and their guides on the popular Annapurna Circuit around the mountain.
This image shows the difference in snow pack between October 10 and October 15 in the large side-by-side images. The inset daily images from October 10-15 show the progress of Cyclone Hudhud through the region.
These images were captured in NOAA View and originate from the Suomi NPP satellite’s VIIRS instrument.
