Today at 07:42:22 GMT, ESA’s SMART-1 mission has ended with the impact of the probe on the lunar surface, as planned by mission control, with an impact point in the lunar “Lake of Excellence”.

Until the last moment, science data were sent to Earth. In addition, the impact was observed by many optical and radio astronomy observatories.

This transmission features a B-roll with the best images of events in the preceding 24 hours:

The final 30 seconds before impact, filmed in mission control, plus the impact and reaction of mission controllers and officals.
