Description

The next quarterly meeting of the Stennis Business Consortium (SBC) will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 in the auditorium of building 1200 at Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, beginning at 1:00 pm. The mission of the SBC is to provide a mechanism for federal agencies, local institutions, and businesses to exchange information on small business goals, needed and emerging technologies, upcoming procurement requirements and opportunities, and issues dealing with existing procurement regulations. This is accomplished through quarterly meetings where specific information is exchanged based on funding cycles, forecasts of small business needs, as well as inquiries from small businesses. Speakers from the following agencies and large contractors are planned: Mississippi Developmental Authority (MDA)’s Minority & Small Business Development Division (MSBDD); General Services Administration; NASA-Stennis; Navy Supply Command/Naval Oceanographic Office; Space and Warfare Systems Command – New Orleans and QinetiQ North America. Also, Table-top exhibits in Millennium Hall (Building 1200) will feature the products and services from small minority and woman-owned businesses beginning immediately following the SBC meeting. This is an opportunity for government and prime contractor representatives to meet with local minority business owners and obtain details about their products and services, as well as small businesses to network with each other to discover common interests and strategic goals.

There is no fee to attend either event. Register at: www.mset.org

If you do not hold a Stennis Space Center security badge, please register for this event no later than close of business on Friday, May 17, 2013 in order to ensure that a visitor’s pass is authorized for you at the south gate security office in time for your arrival.
