Description

The next quarterly meeting of the Stennis Business Consortium (SBC) will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2012 in the auditorium of building 1200 at Stennis Space Center beginning at 1:00pm. The mission of the SBC is to provide a mechanism for federal agencies, local institutions, and businesses to exchange information on small business goals, needed and emerging technologies, upcoming procurement requirements and opportunities, and issues dealing with existing procurement regulations. This is accomplished through quarterly meetings where specific information is exchanged based on funding cycles, forecasts of small business needs, as well as inquiries from small businesses. Dan Pierre, Vice President/General Manager for Jacobs FOSC (Facility Operating Services Contract) will be our featured speaker. Mr. Pierre will provide an overview of the work performed at Stennis under the FOSC contract, their small business goals, and ways to do business with them. Clay Williams, newly named Executive Director of the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport will provide an update on developments and new opportunities at the airport. Updates from the following organizations are also expected: Center of Higher Learning (CHL), Ingall’s Shipbuilding, NASA-Stennis, New Horizons, and White-Spunner Construction. Bus tours of Stennis will follow the meeting, with an off-bus tour of NOAA’s National Data Buoy Center (NDBC). There is no fee for this event. Register at www.mset.org If you currently hold a Stennis Space Center security badge, please register no later than close of business on Friday, August 17, 2012. If you do not hold a Stennis Space Center security badge, please register for this event no later than close of business on Friday, August 17, 2012 in order to ensure that a visitor’s pass is authorized for you at the south gate security office in time for your arrival.
