J-Day 86

POES

N-16 2014Z: Gyro 2 motor current spiked to 71 MA at 19:36:33Z and returned to a nominal reading of 67 MA within 5 minutes. No action required beyond continuing to closely monitor the gyro performance as we have been doing.

GOES

GOES-11:

Cell 22 on Battery 1 continues to degrade. Per Engineering request CP’s executed to turn off selected heaters during shadow periods. Also, Contingency put in place to load shed should an imbalance between BAT1 and BAT2 exceed limit thresholds.

DMSP

OPS 47 FBKS-A Jday 84 01:19Z Tape Recorder 4 (PR4)not operating properly. Recorder appeared to be playing down data (tape counter moving/ motor current nominal) but, the ready volts read zero and USER was not receiving data. CAT I data loss declared @ 03:24Z (6592 S/C sec / 164.8 P/B sec). PR4 taken offline leaving tape recorder’s 1,2, and 3 for support.
