SATOPS MORNING REPORT – November 2, 2000

GOES

No change in the status of the GOES spacecraft.

At 0712Z on November 1 the TACTS 3 crashed at CDA.  The system
was recycled and PCM telemetry for GOES-8 was restored at 0720Z. 
Data losses include: 0715Z image, 0720Z sounding.

At 2001Z, GOES-10 operations were failed over to the Wallops Back-up
site at GSFC as part of a planned two-day durability test.

At 2051Z and 2056Z on Wednesday, November 1, GOES-10 frame breaks were
observed and attributed to high BER (suspected due to vehicular traffic
in the antenna vicinity).

At 2210Z on Wednesday, November 1, a GOES-10 frame break was observed
and attributed to I/O error on SPS5.

At 2245Z on Wednesday, November 1, and at 0030Z and 0330Z on Thursday,
November 2, GOES-10 frame breaks were observed and attributed to CRC error.

Additional sounder breaks were observed at 0040Z, 0140Z and 0340Z on
November 2.

GOES-9 and GOES-11 remain in the Z-Axis Precession (ZAP) storage mode
at ~105 deg W.

GOES operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.

POES

No change in the status of the POES spacecraft.

NOAA-16 operations nominal.

Due to reported impacts to AMSU products, the NOAA-15 solar array was
adjusted from -45 degrees to +53 degrees on November 1 at 1640Z. 
(rev 12842/FCDAS).   The AVHRR was commanded from high to low
power mode on rev 12844 / F at 1821Z.

POES operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.

DMSP

No change in the status of the DMSP spacecraft.

DMSP operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.
