During the previous 24-hour period, in the course of scheduled activities
on board the International Space Station (ISS), a situation arose, which
made it necessary to restart on-board computers installed in the Zvezda
module of the ISS Russian Segment, and to switch some of the on-board
systems into energy-saving mode, which is a proven procedure that had
been used before in the course of the Space Station mission.
The situation was categorized as non-critical. It allowed sufficient
time to analyze it and make a decision.
While the decision to restart the computers was being made, the solar
array pointing was performed automatically in the autonomous control
mode using solar sensors.
After the restart, the computers and other on-board systems have been
operating normally. ISS mission continues in accordance with the pre-planned
program. The mission is controlled by the Lead Operations Control Team
from Mission Control Center near Moscow.
