Description
This notice is issued by the NASA/GSFC Wallops Flight Facility to post a Request for Information (RFI) and Statement of Work via the internet, and solicit responses from interested parties. This document is for information and planning purposes and to allow industry the opportunity to verify reasonableness and feasibility of the requirement, as well as promote competition. Respondents will not be notified of the results.
NASA/GSFC/WFF desires to begin interaction with industry in connection with an anticipated procurement for the operations and maintenance of the Wallops Research Range (WRR). This procurement integrates the functions of the Range and Mission Management Office for the Wallops Research Range centered at Wallops Island, Virginia. Detailed requirements for this acquisition have not been finalized. NASA intends to use the results of this RFI to aid in the making of these final decisions. The objectives of the RFI are: to provide industry with preliminary information regarding this potential acquisition, invite offerors to submit comments and questions regarding the Government’s technical approach, and for contractor’s to submit suggestions available to improve the technical approach or suggestions for the Government to incorporate in the Statement of Work to take advantage of technical developments evolving in the industry today. This preliminary information is being made available for planning purposes only. It does not constitute a Request for Proposal, Invitation for Bid, or Request for Quotation, and it is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to enter into a contract, nor will the Government pay for the information submitted in response to this request. This procurement is subject to review or cancellation at any time. This notice constitutes all information concerning the Range Operations Support Service that will be furnished at this time. Offerors who intend to respond are requested to notify the Contracting Officer with three days of receiving this notice. Responses to this RFI are requested by January 18, 2008. Interested firms are requested to submit their statements, as well as any comments and suggestions on the Government’s approach to: NASA Wallops Flight Facility, Attention: Pamela J.
