Replay: ESA’s Mars Express: Water on Mars

ESA TV Exchanges

Background information on the transmission:

ESA just published a Web story, “Decoding Mars’s Cryptic Region”, on URL http://www.esa.int/esaCP/SEMMT0O7BTE_index_0.html

The Web story is based on results obtained with the Mars Express OMEGA instrument published in Nature.

The “cryptic region” is located at the Martian south pole, and covered with dry carbon dioxide ice. It changes its brightness with the seasons and a group of French scientists has found a new possible explanation for this phenomenon.

The 2nd replay of the Mars Express Exchange released on 16 October is therefore advanced from Saturday 21 October to today. Please note that this release covers Mars Express in general, not the specific results by the OMEGA instrument.

The script is online as a PDF file under http://television.esa.int/photos/EbS48380.pdf

A WMV preview file is online under http://esatv-movies.e-vision.nl/videos/mphi/water_on_mars_13-10-06_mphi.wmv
